We got the band back together this weekend so Austin, Nathan, Ashton, and I went to watch Chase race regionals and then went to Columbus. In Columbus, we went to a Lecrae and Andy Mineo concert that was incredible! Music has a way of bringing many people together who wouldn’t know each other, but who are all friends by the end of the night. During the concert, Lecrae shared different thoughts on perspective and how we should live our lives.
- You can’t change your circumstances, but God can change you through your circumstances.
You can’t control every aspect of your life. You can’t control each of the bad things that have happened to you. You can’t choose your family or the place you grew up. However, you can ask God to change you in your circumstances. Just because you may be in a tough position doesn’t mean that God isn’t using you. God can shape you through your circumstances. See how God can change you instead of looking for a change in your circumstance.
- Are you having a bad day or a bad 5 minutes that you think about all day?
How do you let negativity affect you? When you say you are having a bad day are you having a bad day, or did you have a bad moment? Take a new perspective and isolate moments that make you mad. Just because something bad happened for 10 minutes doesn’t mean the rest of your day can’t be great. Don’t let one bad apple ruin the entire batch.
- How can you be a light in the dark if you have never been in the dark?
As Christians, we are called to be lights in the midst of darkness. We spend plenty of time talking about how to be a light to those around us, but are we in positions where our light will truly shine? If we are staying in comfortable life circumstances, are you in the darkness? How can you shine a light if there isn’t darkness around you? If you stay comfortable, you may not be using your light to truly show the love of Jesus to those around you. A time of darkness enables you to develop a light inside of you. Darkness shapes and molds you into the person you are, don’t disregard it. Accept difficulty and use it to help those around you. Your story has the power to help others.
See how God is changing you in your circumstances.
Find the good in your day, not just the bad.
Be a light in the darkness.
I appreciate you.
